Just a little Twitter Dig

Dear Web Designers,

If you are going to have icons on your screen, it’s good practice to use title attributes (or something) that will show a user what the icon means.

And I’m looking at you, Twitter.

I’ve gone back to using Twitter after, oh, maybe seven years (the browser version). I found a post I liked, and I wanted to retweet it. I didn’t know what those icons meant, so like 4 billion + other people, I hovered over the icon to see what it meant. And…

…no text.

Now, it didn’t take me long to figure it out, but it was a great surprise.

I mean, this is 2019. I thought we put title attributes on icons a decade ago.
